On Marathon Day 2013, Boston Cares was inundated with people who wanted to help and with support from around the country. There was little volunteers could do on the ground, so we channeled energy into a social media campaign called #MilesofGood, which captured good deeds people were doing all over. We ran it for the 26 days following the Marathon and it helped us recognize the miracle of Boston Strong. In a similar spirit, the City of Boston founded One Boston Day in 2015 to celebrate the resiliency, generosity, and strength demonstrated by the people of Boston and those around the world in response to the Marathon tragedy.

This year, Boston Cares and our community will be celebrating volulnteerism and the spirit of the Boston Marathon throughout the month of April. We encourage you to post about the creative and inspiring ways that you and fellow volunteers have responded to the ever-changing needs of our community. Be sure to use the hashtag and check out the #MilesofGood feed below!
